Desafortunadamente, esta vez no se pudo. Aunque mi universidad me autorizó el máximo de dinero disponible para que los estudiantes doctorales vayan a conferencias, el dinero no fue suficiente. El precio de la conferencia era altísimo, sin contar el avión, la estadía y los gastos incidentales. Así es la vida de los estudiantes graduados, no siempre podemos ir a los sitios que queremos. Aún así me gustaría agradecer al comité organizador por haberme dado la oportunidad. Espero que todo haya quedado bien.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be this time around. Even though my Faculty approved my application for financial aid, it was not enough money (there’s a maximum amount allocated per Ph.D. student). The conference registration fee itself was very, very expensive, not to mention the plane ticket, the hotel accommodations and the incidental expenses. That’s grad life; we can’t always go to the places we want to go. But still, I would like to thank the organizing committee for accepting my abstract and giving me that opportunity. Hopefully, I will be able to present at a future conference.
